Day 3- Favorite TV show

Good evening loyal followers! Today was pretty gloomy outside and in
my house so I took a note out of a friends playbook and decided to make
a list of things that would shake those down home blues. I thought it would
be nice to share it with you!!

And next on the agenda is the day three blog!!

What is your favorite TV program?

Ok so as most of you know I watch way to much tv for me to admit on here! I love
everything Joss Whedon has even touched (Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse,
Dr horrible etc.) I love Jepordy, weeds, Community, Castle, and How I met
your mother! But those all really pale in comparison to the show I want to
talk about today.
Boy Meets world has been my favorite show since I was a
little girl. It was our family program and we watched it every day! My sister and I
really bonded over some of the story lines, and we still have inside jokes and
quote lines from it to this very day. So, thank you boy meets world for keeping
our bond strong and giving us a movie about family friendship and the pursuit
of graduation!!!

love LYDIA

PS: What was was your favorite show growing up?
The one that got the whole family around theTV to watch it??

OH MY!!

So.....I would like to apologize for the lateness of my newest post. I had a bit of a computer problem, and by a problem I mean that I have a huge crack across the screen! Oh joy! Do not worry fair followers, the problem has been remedied by a purple acer netbook! (its so pretty!!) Soooo onto day three!!

Talk about you tattoos and piercings.
Well this is an interesting subject, and I love that its number three. These are usually something kept private. I know for me my tattoo is only for me because I am the only one with whom it would have any meaning. (which is why I am not including a picture) It is of a sparrow done all in black ink with the words "you're free" written in script below it. I got this tattoo during a very hard period in my life. I had basically turned my back on my faith, I was deep into depression and alot of other things that i was regretting. I couldn't really see a way out.
One day I was at a group meeting with some friends and we were doing guided meditation. We were told to find our token animal and let it send us a message. It took me a few minutes to really get it. A sparrow appeared in my line of vision and told me simply "YOU'RE FREE!" I knew at once what it meant when I felt as if a great weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I knew that it was telling me that forgiveness is there if i would only take it. My guilt and shame, my burdens and struggles were just lifted from me. Birds will always be my favorite animal because of the freedom that they represent to me.

How about you? Do you have any cool tat stories, or fun piercing dittys??

Middle names have always been fascinating to me.
I love learning how people got their second name.
Alot of times its a family name, or a famous person the parents looked up to.
For my family it was a bible character.

Ruth
I never owned my name. Till now.
I always thought that a name like Ruth
would be better suited to a woman in her late 80s. Not necessarily to a young
girl trying to make her was in the world. Then I realized
where my name had come from.

Ruth was a strong woman in the Bible. She followed her mother
in law even when her husband died and her sister in law abandoned ship.
She was an example of true faithfullness and trust in the face of immensely
tough circumstances. I am proud to bear her name!!

- What do you think about your middle name?
-How did your parents think of it?

poetry day of awesomeness

We went to the Wichita mountains with the lit society today on a poetry writing retreat.
I think you all know how much I love writing poetry, so here it is: Hope you like it

Majestic peace

I see the mountain there
but my head is somewhere else
As I scale the wild face
my foot slips on a stone
I'm dreaming of the cool, crisp air
that wraps it's arms around me
I see your face glance down at me
as you reach out and touch my hand.
The rope around my waist goes tout
and reminds me where I am
My hands grab hold of cold rock pieces
as I swing myself up the mountain
with no great force of expertise
I climb straight to the top
And staring down at the great beyond
I stand to catch my breath
my arms help wide
my face aglow
with smiles and with wonder
I grasp your hand
as we take it all in
this majestic scene of peace!
